’70s Tama Ray Durant Dreadnought

Nobody in this wide world seems to know who Ray Durant, Luthier was. The label has a Paris address and says Japan Made. The headstock has a Ray Durant plate on it.

Most likely this was a small batch importer sourcing guitars from Japan. This one was made in the Tama factory and is one of the best sounding Japanese acoustic guitars you will hear from this period. It has a solid spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides, a great neck angle and action and sounds big and warm.
